SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Gary  Lowell Cummins of Brocton, who 
4passed away on October 31, 2010; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, He was born December 14, 1948 in Paris to Lowell 
6"Banty" Cummins and Louise Wright Cummins; he married Lois 
7Richey on May 24, 1975 in Brocton; and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, He was a lifelong resident of Brocton; he worked 
9as the Embarrass Township Road Commissioner for 28 years and 
10was a 41-year member of the Brocton Fire Department; he was 
11also a long time member of the Brocton Spring Festival Draft 
12Horse Committee; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, He was an avid sportsman; he enjoyed hunting and 
14fishing with family and friends; in more recent years, he had 
15taken up the hobby of drag racing; he never passed up the 
16opportunity to have a cup of coffee and visit with friends at 
17the local restaurant; he was a devoted husband, father, and 
18grandfather; and
  
 
19    WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his wife, Lois; and 
20his grandson, Caden Cummins; and

1    WHEREAS, Gary Cummins is survived by his sons, Thad Cummins 
2and Shon (Niki) Cummins; and his grandson, Trevyn Cummins; 
3therefore, be it
  
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL 
5ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with 
6his family and friends, the passing of Gary Cummins; and be it 
7further
  
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
9presented to the family of Gary Cummins as a symbol of our 
10sincere sympathy.
