| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Dorothy S. Hardbeck of Godfrey, who |
| 4 | | passed away on April 26, 2011; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, She was born on November 30, 1927, in rural Alton, |
| 6 | | the daughter of Edward Sr. and Sarah Voumard; she received her |
| 7 | | undergraduate degree from Shurtleff College and her master's |
| 8 | | degree in education from Washington University; and
|
| 9 | | WHEREAS, She taught all eight grades in a one-room country |
| 10 | | school and later taught third grade in Fosterburg; she was a |
| 11 | | member of the Immanuel United Methodist Church in Edwardsville; |
| 12 | | and
|
| 13 | | WHEREAS, On August 1, 1954, she married Donald Hardbeck at |
| 14 | | the Salem Presbyterian Church in Alton; and
|
| 15 | | WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by two brothers, Edward |
| 16 | | and Roy Voumard; and
|
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Dorothy Hardback is survived by her husband, Dr. |
| 18 | | Donald Hardbeck; her daughters, Donna Hardbeck, Beth Bradley |
| 19 | | and husband, Sean, Janet Hardbeck, and Karen Arensmann and her |
| 20 | | husband, Frank; her grandchildren, Phillip Goodrich, Glen |
