SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Louis J. McKenna of County Derry, 
4Northern Ireland, who passed away on April 15, 2011; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, He was born on October 3, 1922 in Swatragh, County 
6Derry, Northern Ireland; he immigrated to the United States in 
71953; and


  
 
8    WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen T. 
9(nee, Lakes); and his siblings, Albert, John, Joe, Vada, 
10Theresa, Gerry, and Eddy; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, Louis McKenna is survived by his children, Maureen 
12(Thomas) O'Malley, Eileen, John (Kathleen), Thomas 
13(Catherine), James (Susan), Daniel (Margaret), and Siobhan 
14(Joseph) Sullivan; he was the cherished grandfather of Maureen 
15(John) Cradick, Kathleen (John) Scaletta, James Kinsella, 
16Patrick, Mary, Michael, and John O'Malley, Kelley, Jack, Molly, 
17Colleen, Annie, Brian, Eileen, Bridget, Joseph, Matthew, and 
18Sara McKenna, and Daniel Sullivan; he was the proud 
19great-grandfather of Emily and Ryan Scaletta; he was the fond 
20brother of Mary McKenna; he was the dear uncle of many; and he 
21was a true friend to countless people; therefore, be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL 
2ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with 
3his family and friends, the passing of Louis McKenna; and be it

5    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
6presented to the family of Louis McKenna as a symbol of our 
7sincere sympathy.
