| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of
Henry Joseph Kilian, who passed away on |
| 4 | | March 8, 2011; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Henry Kilian was born on March 10, 1932, in |
| 6 | | Chicago; his parents were Teofil and Victoria Kilian; and
|
| 7 | | WHEREAS, Henry Kilian attended Catholic grammar schools |
| 8 | | and graduated from Weber High School, where he was also known |
| 9 | | in his day as "Hook Shot Hank" for his basketball skills; and
|
| 10 | | WHEREAS, After completing high school, Henry Kilian |
| 11 | | attended trade school and helped his father grow their cement |
| 12 | | construction business, which remained family-owned until the |
| 13 | | time of his death; and
|
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Henry Kilian served his country with pride and |
| 15 | | distinction as a member of the United States Army for four |
| 16 | | years; and
|
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Henry Kilian was a very devout Catholic and |
| 18 | | enjoyed being an altar server, performing that duty until he |
| 19 | | was 18 years old; and
