| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Richard A. Cannon, who passed away on |
| 4 | | February 3, 2011 in Brighton; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, He was born on February 16, 1931, in Coffeen, the |
| 6 | | son of Roy and Grace K. (Donaldson) Cannon; he married Neil K. |
| 7 | | Wilhelm on July 14, 1956, at the First Baptist Church in Upper |
| 8 | | Alton; and
|
| 9 | | WHEREAS, He was a United States Navy veteran and served in |
| 10 | | the Korean Conflict; he was stationed on the USS Salsbury Sound |
| 11 | | as a machinist mate; and
|
| 12 | | WHEREAS, He worked for Owens-Illinois Glass as a machinist |
| 13 | | for 41 years and retired in 1992; he was a member of the Golden |
| 14 | | Emblem Club with Owens-Illinois Glass; he enjoyed hunting, |
| 15 | | fishing and spending time with his family and friends; and
|
| 16 | | WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his parents; six |
| 17 | | brothers; and two sisters; and
|
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Richard Cannon is survived by his wife, Neil |
| 19 | | Cannon; his two sons and daughters-in-law, James and Brenda |
| 20 | | Cannon and David and Stephanie Cannon; his daughter and |
