SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Jeffrey Drake Butterfield of Palatine, 
4formerly of Glencoe, who passed away on February 8, 2011; and


  
 
5    WHEREAS, He was the former president and CEO of Harris Bank 
6Palatine, and vice chairman of Cornerstone National Bank in 
7Palatine since 2005; he was the sitting chairman of the Buehler 
8YMCA in Palatine; and
 
9    WHEREAS, He served on the WINGS Leadership Board since its 
10beginnings in 2003; he supported many of the WINGS events; and

  
 
11    WHEREAS, He was the  president of the Harper College 
12Foundation Board, and helped fundraise for college 
13enhancements and programs, as well as scholarships; in 2006, he 
14co-chaired the "Project Tomorrow" campaign; in 2010, at the 
15Harper College commencement ceremony, his dedication to the 
16college was rewarded when he received the James J. McGrath 
17Award; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Jeffrey Butterfield was the husband of Cindy; the 
19father of Kari Butterfield (Matt) Liddle, Brandon Butterfield, 
20and Grant Butterfield; the grandfather of Skeie, Clovelly, 
21Charlotte, and MacBride Liddle; and the brother of Larry and

1Peter Butterfield; therefore, be it
  
 
2    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL 
3ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with 
4his family and friends, the passing of Jeffrey Butterfield; and 
5be it further
  
 
6    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
7presented to the family of Jeffrey Butterfield as a symbol of 
8our sincere sympathy.
