| 1 | | AN ACT concerning State government.
|
| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
|
| 4 | | Section 5. The Secretary of State Act is amended by adding |
| 5 | | Section 16 as follows:
|
| 6 | | (15 ILCS 305/16 new) |
| 7 | | Sec. 16. Quarterly business report. The office of the |
| 8 | | Secretary of State shall issue a quarterly report to the |
| 9 | | General Assembly detailing the number of businesses registered |
| 10 | | with the Secretary of State, the number of new businesses |
| 11 | | incorporating or otherwise forming in Illinois, and the number |
| 12 | | of businesses renewing registrations in Illinois by category, |
| 13 | | including, but not limited to, limited and limited liability |
| 14 | | partnerships, corporations, and limited liability companies. |
| 15 | | The report shall include comparable data from the corresponding |
| 16 | | quarter of the previous calendar year and shall reflect any |
| 17 | | increases or decreases. The office of the Secretary of State |
| 18 | | shall publish the report on its website.

| 19 | | Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon |
| 20 | | becoming law.
