AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 178




2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 178 on page 9, line 
315, by deleting "3,"; and
 
4by deleting line 2 on page 10 through line 2 on page 25; and
 
5on page 76, line 4, after "Section 20-60", by inserting "and by 
6adding Section 20-165"; and

 
7on page 78, immediately below line 10, by inserting the 
8following:
 
9    "(30 ILCS 500/20-165 new)
10    Sec. 20-165. Contracting oversight for contracts of 
11S500,000 or more. At least 30 days before each proposed 
12contract of $500,000 or more is finalized under this Code, the 
13Chief Procurement Officer having jurisdiction over that 
14proposed contract must deliver a copy of all information

1pertaining to the proposed contract to the Commission on 
2Government Forecasting and Accountability.  Notwithstanding any 
3other provision of this Code, the Commission on Government 
4Forecasting and Accountability may disapprove any proposed 
5contract in excess of $500,000  at any time before that proposed 
6contract is finalized. If the Commission on Government 
7Forecasting and Accountability disapproves a proposed 
8contract, then that proposed contract may not be finalized 
9unless subsequently approved by a joint resolution of the 
10General Assembly.".
