HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives are pleased to honor Chief Andy Bonomo on being 
4fire chief for the York Center Fire Protection District for 25 
5years and being a member of the district for 40 years; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, Chief Andy Bonomo is a second-generation member of 
7the district; he worked his way up through the ranks to become 
8fire chief; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, The York Center Fire Protection District has been 
10providing fire protection since 1948; the district provides 
11quality fire and emergency medical services to approximately 4 
12square miles with 10,000 residents; the district consists of 
13unincorporated areas of Lombard, Villa Park, Oak Brook, and 
14Oakbrook Terrace; the district also protects approximately 3 
15miles of road way on Interstate 88; it has 2 full-time, 65 
16part-time personnel, and 2 chief officers; it operates out of 
17the fire station located at 16th Street and Myers Road and is a 
18ISO Class 4; and
  
 
19    WHEREAS, The York Center Fire Protection District values 
20its members and their dedication to providing efficient and 
21professional services to friends, family, and visitors to the 
22district; professional pride, integrity, and trust are

1required of each team member; and
  
 
2    WHEREAS, The York Center Fire Protection District offers 
3many services in addition to fire fighting; it offers CPR 
4classes to residents and local businesses, installing smoke 
5detectors for senior citizens, and fire inspections of business 
6and residential homes; they host gatherings such as the annual 
7open house during national Fire Prevention Week; and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, The York Center Fire Protection District will hold 
9its Annual Awards & Recognition Dinner on Friday, December 14, 
102012, at The Grotto in Oak Brook; therefore, be it
  
 
11    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
12NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
13we are pleased to honor Chief Andy Bonomo on his 40 years of 
14service to the York Center Fire Protection District and his 25 
15years as fire chief, and we wish him well in all his future 
16endeavours; and be it further
  
 
17    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
18presented to Chief Andy Bonomo as an expression of our esteem 
19and respect.
