HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate  Gower Middle School on 
4being recognized as a 2012 Blue Ribbon School by the U.S. 
5Department of Education; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, The National Blue Ribbon Schools program 
7recognizes public and private elementary, middle, and high 
8schools where students perform at very high levels or where 
9significant improvements are being made in students' levels of 
10academic achievement; a National Blue Ribbon Schools flag 
11waving overhead has become a trademark of excellence and a 
12symbol of quality recognized by everyone from parents to 
13policy-makers in thousands of communities; and
 




  
14    WHEREAS, The celebration of Gower Middle School's 
15achievement will take place at the 30th anniversary of the 
16National Blue Ribbon School awards ceremony on November 12-13, 
172012, in Washington, D.C.; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Gower Middle School is in Burr Ridge; its 
19principal is Tracy Murphy; therefore, be it
 
20    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
21NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that

1we congratulate Gower Middle School on being named a Blue 
2Ribbon School by the U.S. Department of Education; and be it
