HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives are pleased to congratulate Laurel Hill School 
4on the occasion of its 50th anniversary celebration; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, The celebration will take place on October 20, 
62012; the school was founded in 1962; the program will have 
7activities for the children during the day and the parents in 
8the evening; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Laurel Hill School has 500 students in 21 
10classrooms from Kindergarten through 6th grade; it is in the 
11Elgin School District No. 46; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, Laurel Hill School encourages a system of Positive 
13Behaviors and Interventions Systems (PBIS); the staff, 
14families, and the rest of the school community are deeply 
15committed to ensuring the success of all students; the staff 
16prepares students for college and career readiness standards; 
17and
  
 
18    WHEREAS, Laurel Hill School is a neighborhood school that 
19enables many students to walk to and from class each day; the 
20school has close affiliations with other organizations in the 
21community, including the YWCA, Hanover Township, Greater Elgin

1Health Clinic, Christ Presbyterian Church, and Crossroads 
2Church; and
  
 
3    WHEREAS, The principal of Laurel Hill School is Patricia 
4Stubbs; therefore, be it
  
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
6NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
7we congratulate the Laurel Hill School on the 50th anniversary 
8of its founding; and be it further
  
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
10presented to Laurel Hill School as an expression of our esteem 
11and respect.
