HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are deeply saddened to learn of the death of Lombard Village President William "Bill" J. Mueller, who died on August 18, 2012; and

WHEREAS, Bill Mueller was raised in Lombard by his parents, Joseph and Dolorosa (nee Muldoon); he married Eileen Rogers; and

WHEREAS, Bill Mueller served as village president since 1993, having begun his fifth consecutive term in May of 2009; he was the longest serving village president in Lombard's history; he was a veteran of the Illinois National Guard; and

WHEREAS, Bill Mueller began his political career in the late 1950's as a member of the Village of Lombard's Safety Committee and the Lombard Youth Commission; he was District Trustee from 1975 to 1979 and served as Chairman of the Public Works Committee as well as Chairman of the DuPage Community Development Commission; he was president of the DuPage Mayors and Managers Conference and Co-Chairman of the Glenbard Wastewater Authority; he was a member of the Lombard Chamber of Commerce and Industry Eagle Club; he served on the boards and committees of many local groups, such as the YMCA, St. Pius X School and Church, Cub Scouts and was the president of the Lombard Chamber of Commerce; he was a former Lombard Man of the Year; and

WHEREAS, Bill Mueller opened the Bill Mueller Insurance Agency in 1965; he retired from American Family Insurance in 2005; and

WHEREAS, Bill Mueller was preceded in death by his nephew, Joe Harrington; and

WHEREAS, Bill Mueller is survived by his wife, Eileen (nee Rogers); his daughters, Debbie (Keith) Rapata, and Donna (Mark) Fruehe; his grandchildren, K.J., Stephen, Mikey, and Ashley; his brother, Thomas M. (Jane); his nieces and nephews, Mike (Jenny) Mueller, Jim Mueller, Chris Williams, Cheryl (Jim) Maynard, Don Wesolowicz, Sandy Wesolowicz, Mike, Mary, Kelly, and Ann Harrington; his sister-in-laws, Carol (Don) Wesolowicz, Lucille Rogers, and Mary Harrington; his brother-in-law, Francis (Rose) Rogers; his special cousin, Ann Ahern; and many other relatives and friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Bill Mueller, and we extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Bill Mueller as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
