HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives are pleased to congratulate North Chicago Fire 
4Department Fire Chief Theodore Wilder on his retirement; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Chief Wilder officially retired on June 7, 2012 
6with 28 years of service; and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, Highlights of his career include his promotion to 
8Lieutenant on May 2, 1997; his promotion to Shift Commander on 
9July 19, 1999, and his promotion to Chief on June 1, 2001; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, He was certified as a firefighter, paramedic, and 
11arson investigator, as well as many other certifications 
12throughout his service; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, Chief Wilder dedicated his career to educating the 
14children and citizens on the importance of fire prevention and 
15safety; one of the final projects he worked on was the update 
16and purchase of new tornado warning sirens throughout the city, 
17which he obtained by a grant; and
  
 
18    WHEREAS, Chief Wilder was an asset to the North Chicago 
19Fire Department and will be missed by a grateful community;

1    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
2NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
3we congratulate Chief Wilder on his retirement and wish him the 
4best in his future endeavors; and be it further
  
 
5    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
6presented to Chief Wilder as a symbol of our respect and 
7esteem.
