HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives are pleased to honor Sergeant James Peterson on 
4his retirement from the Cook County Sheriff's Department; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, James Peterson was born May 18, 1953; he attended 
6Amundsen High School in 1968 and later received his GED; and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, He joined the United States Army in 1970, he was 
8honorably discharged years later; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, He joined the Cook County Sheriff's Department and 
10graduated with honors on August 3, 1981; he was promoted to the 
11rank of Sergeant in April of 2003; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, After serving 31 years with the Cook County 
13Sheriff's Department, he will retire on May 31, 2012; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, James Peterson is married to his lovely wife, 
15Janet; their children are the late Jim Jr., Paul, and Jaclyn; 
16therefore, be it
  
 
17    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
18NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
19we honor Sergeant Peterson for his years of dedication to law

1enforcement and wish him all the best in his future endeavors; 
2and be it further
  
 
3    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
4presented to Sergeant James Peterson as a symbol of our respect 
5and esteem.
