HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives are pleased to congratulate  and thank the 
4members of the Alliance of Local Service Organizations (ALSO) 
5for the work they have done to save children's lives through 
6the Annual Walk for Peace; and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, The members of ALSO have dedicated themselves to 
8ending violence in all of its forms, and to helping those who 
9have been affected by violence in numerous ways; the group's 
10annual Peace Walk is one of the many ways in which ALSO calls 
11attention to this growing problem; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, The theme of this year's Peace Walk is Preventing 
13Children's Exposure to Violence and will focus on those younger 
14children who are witnesses to multiple forms of violence in the 
15streets and homes of Chicago and beyond; and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, ALSO's 17th Annual Walk for Peace will be held on 
17June 2, 2012, starting at 10 AM; the walk's participants will 
18walk from Moos Elementary School in Humboldt Park to Yates 
19Elementary School in Logan Square; and

  
 
20    WHEREAS, The members of ALSO serve as models of hard work, 
21integrity, and dedication for the people of the State of

1Illinois; therefore, be it
  
 
2    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
3NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
4we congratulate and thank the members of the Alliance of Local 
5Service Organizations for the work they have done to save 
6children's lives and wish them continued success in their 
7future endeavors; and be it further
  
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
9presented to the Alliance of Local Service Organizations as a 
10symbol of our esteem and respect.
