1 HOUSE RESOLUTION

2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of

3 Representatives are pleased to congratulate the play squad of

4 Oak Lawn Community High School on winning the Illinois High

5 School Association State Drama Tournament with their

6 production of Picnic by William Inge; and

7 WHEREAS, The production was performed the weekend of March

8 28-29, 2012 at the University of Illinois-Springfield; the

9 actors from the contest play squad included Jacqueline

10 McNaughton, Julia Boyle, Emily Harris, Isabella Sanchez,

11 Taylor Lindemann, Michael Sequeira, Angelica Krizka, and

12 Brittany Burzinski; and

13 WHEREAS, All-State Cast Honors were earned by Jacqueline

14 McNaughton, Emily Harris, Isabella Sanchez, and Taylor

15 Lindemann; and

16 WHEREAS, The school's other drama squad earned fourth place

17 for their group interpretation entry, A League of Their Own, by

18 Lowell Ganz and Bob Mandel; members included Emily Salomone,

19 Erin Beland, Stephen Childers, Joseph DeLaMora, Vincent Doria,

20 Dominique Lettiere, Valentina Lopez, Anna Metzger, Lauren

21 Montesano, Andrew Waterstraat, and student director Jenna

22 Hurckes; and

1 WHEREAS, All-State Cast Honors were earned by Emily

2 Salomone, Valentina Lopez, Vincent Doria, and Anna Metzger; the

3 teams were directed by Head Drama Coach Billy Denton; assistant

4 coaches and volunteer assistants include T.J. Kahriman,

5 Theresa Wantiez, Bob Beland, Tony Lindemann, and Marcus Wargin;

6 and

7 WHEREAS, The team was recognized at an all-school assembly

8 on April 2, 2012 and at the local Board of Education meeting on

9 April 18, 2012; therefore, be it

10 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE

11 NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that

12 we congratulate the young thespians of Oak Lawn Community High

13 School on winning the State Drama Tournament and wish them

14 continued success in their future endeavors; and be it further

15 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be

16 presented to Head Drama Coach Billy Denton as a symbol of our

17 respect and esteem.
