HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives are pleased to congratulate the members of the 
4Simeon Career Academy Wolverines basketball team for winning 
5the IHSA Class 4A State championship; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, The Simeon Wolverines defeated Proviso East 50-48 
7to secure victory at the IHSA Class 4A State championship; the 
8team ended the season with a phenomenal 33-1 record; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, The Simeon Wolverines were ably led by Head Coach 
10Robert Smith, who won his State-record 5th State championship 
11at the tournament; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, The members of the Simeon Wolverines basketball 
13team are Jaylon Tate, Reginald Norris, Bobby Harris, Myles 
14Harrison, Dennis Williams, Jaleni Neely, Ivan Hooker, Ricky 
15Norris, Steve Taylor, Kendrick Nunn, Jabari Parker, Kendall 
16Pollard, Dwan Stewart, John Gardner, and Quon Davis; the team's 
17head coach is Robert Smith and the assistant coaches are Marcus 
18Alderson, Maurice Brown, Jeff Duncan, Marlon Finner, Andre 
19Hamlin, and Leonard Thomas; and

  
 
20    WHEREAS, The members of the Simeon Wolverines basketball 
21team serve as models of hard work, integrity, and dedication

1for the people of the State of Illinois; therefore, be it
  
 
2    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
3NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
4we congratulate the members of the Simeon Career Academy 
5Wolverines basketball team for winning the IHSA Class 4A State 
6championship and wish them continued success and happiness in 
7the future; and be it further
  
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
9presented to the Simeon Wolverines basketball team as a symbol 
10of our esteem and respect.
