HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to honor Gary and Judy Woll for their public service; and

WHEREAS, Gary and Judy Woll were married in 1962; they will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary in December of 2012; they have 3 children, Jennifer, Rebecca, and Kim, and 4 grandchildren; and

WHEREAS, Gary Woll earned his bachelor's and master's degrees from the University of Illinois; he taught history and government at Elmwood Park High School from 1961 until 1993, when he took early retirement; he continued to substitute teach at Elmwood Park High School and Walther Lutheran High School until 2008 and taught student teachers at Northeastern Illinois University from 2001 to 2009; he was also the Voice of the Elmwood Park Tigers from 1963 through 2005 for almost every sport; Judy Woll has worked as a nurse for many different allergy doctors over the years; and

WHEREAS, Gary Woll was elected a Maywood village trustee in 1977; after serving in that position for 24 years, he was elected again in 2003; he continued serving in that capacity until 2009, when he was elected to his current position as village clerk; he has been a member of the Neighbors of Maywood Community Organization for the past 44 years and has served as the organization's President and Vice-President; in 1994, he joined the Maywood Rotary Club, where he has served as president 3 different times; he was the first male member of the Proviso League of Women Voters; he has been a member of the Maywood Chamber of Commerce for many years and an active member of the Proviso Township Democratic Party for about 13 years; he also serves on the Chamber Scholarship committee and served on the Maywood Fine Arts Board of Directors and the Proviso Senior Citizens Board; and

WHEREAS, Judy Woll has been a member of the Proviso League of Women Voters, a member of the Neighbors of Maywood Community Organization, since the organization's founding in 1968; she has been a member of the Maywood Rotary Club for the past 5 years; she was also a volunteer at the Proviso Food Pantry; and

WHEREAS, Gary and Judy Woll have been active members of the Oak Park Unitarian Congregation for almost 50 years; Gary and Judy have both have served on the church board and Gary has served as president of the congregation twice; and

WHEREAS, Gary and Judy Woll serve as models of hard work, integrity, and dedication for the people of the State of Illinois; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we honor Gary and Judy Woll for their public service and wish them continued success and happiness in the future; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Gary and Judy Woll as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
