HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives are pleased to congratulate the congregation 
4of St. Paul Baptist Church of Peoria on the occasion of the 
5church's 98th anniversary; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, The first St. Paul Baptist Church was organized in 
71914 by a Mission Band of ladies from Mount Zion with the 
8leadership of Rev. William H. Hayes, and was incorporated in 
91917; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, St. Paul Baptist Church is committed to 
11transforming people with the Gospel of Jesus Christ so that 
12Christ's life may be seen in their lives; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, St. Paul Baptist Church exists to catch and 
14cultivate the lost so that they may have a personal 
15relationship with Jesus Christ which will cause them to 
16celebrate Him, commune with believers, and work with the church 
17to fulfill the Great Commission; and
  
 
18    WHEREAS, The congregants at St. Paul Baptist Church share a 
19mission of evangelism, discipleship, worship, fellowship, and 
20ministry with each other and the entire community in Peoria; 
21and; and

1    WHEREAS, St. Paul Baptist Church provides ministries for 
2congregants at every stage of their life, welcomes all people 
3to join in them in worship, and strives to meet the needs of 
4the entire community; and
 
5    WHEREAS, The congregation of St. Paul Baptist Church serves 
6as a model of hard work, integrity, and dedication for the 
7people of the State of Illinois; therefore, be it
  
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
9NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
10we congratulate the congregation of the St. Paul Baptist Church 
11in Peoria on the occasion of the church's 98th anniversary and 
12wish them continued success and happiness in the future; and be 
13it further
  
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
15presented to Reverend Deveraux R. Hubbard of the St. Paul 
16Baptist Church of Peoria as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
