| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 | | Representatives are pleased to congratulate the faculty, |
| 4 | | staff, and students of Orland School District #135 for their |
| 5 | | innovative initiatives regarding student CPR/AED/First Aid |
| 6 | | training; and
|
| 7 | | WHEREAS, Orland School District #135 is composed of 10 |
| 8 | | schools, with approximately 5,000 kids attending kindergarten |
| 9 | | through 8th grade; and
|
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Under the direction of Superintendent Dennis |
| 11 | | Soustek, Orland School District #135 was one of the first |
| 12 | | school districts in the State to implement CPR/AED/First Aid |
| 13 | | training into its curriculum as part of the physical education |
| 14 | | requirements; and
|
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Three junior highs within Orland School District |
| 16 | | #135, Century Junior High, Jerling Junior High, and Orland |
| 17 | | Junior High, participate in the AHA program, which is taught by |
| 18 | | the district's school nurses and physical education faculty; |
| 19 | | approximately 800 7th grade children go through the program |
| 20 | | every year; and
|
| 21 | | WHEREAS, The faculty, staff, and students of Orland School |
