| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 | | Representatives are pleased to congratulate Neil Wagner on the |
| 4 | | occasion of his retirement on February 1, 2012, after 40 years |
| 5 | | of service as a union carpenter; and
|
| 6 | | WHEREAS, Neil Wagner was greatly influenced by his father, |
| 7 | | Doyle Wagner, who was a 50-year member of Local 640; after |
| 8 | | graduating from Pope County High School, he followed in his |
| 9 | | father's footsteps and became an apprentice; to accomplish this |
| 10 | | goal, he attended apprenticeship classes one night a week for 4 |
| 11 | | years, during which he had perfect attendance; on February 2, |
| 12 | | 1972, he joined Carpenters Local 605 in Golconda, which was |
| 13 | | affiliated with the Three Rivers District Council of Paducah, |
| 14 | | Kentucky; and
|
| 15 | | WHEREAS, In 1976, Neil Wagner was hired as a carpenter |
| 16 | | instructor at the Golconda Job Corps Center, where he passed |
| 17 | | his knowledge of carpentry onto countless young students; in |
| 18 | | 2005, he left the Center with over 20 years of service and was |
| 19 | | hired as business agent for Local 640 in Metropolis; and
|
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Neil Wagner has held an elected office in the |
| 21 | | Carpenters Union for over 35 years; and
