| 1 | HOUSE RESOLUTION
| ||||||
| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives are pleased to congratulate Michael Richard | ||||||
| 4 | Goers on the occasion of attaining the coveted rank of Eagle | ||||||
| 5 | Scout; and
| ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, He is a senior at Hoffman Estates High School and | ||||||
| 7 | is member of Boy Scout Troop 497 out of Prince of Peace | ||||||
| 8 | Lutheran Church in Schaumburg; he plans on being a geologist | ||||||
| 9 | and has been accepted by Illinois State University and Eastern | ||||||
| 10 | Michigan University, both of which have strong geology and | ||||||
| 11 | geography programs; and
| ||||||
| 12 | WHEREAS, He is very athletic and has been on soccer, | ||||||
| 13 | basketball, and baseball teams from the age of 5 until high | ||||||
| 14 | school; once in high school, he decided to join the cross | ||||||
| 15 | country team in the fall of his freshman year and immediately | ||||||
| 16 | became one of their fastest runners; he competed on the cross | ||||||
| 17 | country team all 4 years of high school, serving as the team | ||||||
| 18 | captain his senior year; and
| ||||||
| 19 | WHEREAS, He was one of the fastest runners on the track | ||||||
| 20 | team throughout high school and is an avid swimmer; he has | ||||||
| 21 | worked at Seascape Waterpark in Hoffman Estates and Prairie | ||||||
| 22 | Stone indoor pool for the last 2 summers, earning money for | ||||||
| |||||||
| |||||||
| 1 | college; and
| ||||||
| 2 | WHEREAS, His Eagle project was the building of an outdoor | ||||||
| 3 | sanctuary at Beth Tikvah Congregation in Hoffman Estates; this | ||||||
| 4 | project required the building of a deck for the rabbi and | ||||||
| 5 | cantor to stand on to conduct religious services, as well as 6 | ||||||
| 6 | large benches for members to sit; and | ||||||
| 7 | WHEREAS, He will receive the rank of Eagle Scout at an | ||||||
| 8 | Eagle Scout Court of Honor on March 4, 2012, at Beth Tikvah | ||||||
| 9 | Congregation in Hoffman Estates; and
| ||||||
| 10 | WHEREAS, Michael Goers serves as a model of hard work, | ||||||
| 11 | integrity, and dedication for the people of the State of | ||||||
| 12 | Illinois; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 13 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | ||||||
| 14 | NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
| 15 | we congratulate Michael Goers on the occasion of attaining the | ||||||
| 16 | coveted rank of Eagle Scout and wish him continued success and | ||||||
| 17 | happiness in the future on the occasion of attaining the | ||||||
| 18 | coveted rank of Eagle Scout and wish him continued success and | ||||||
| 19 | happiness in the future; and be it further

| 20 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 21 | presented to Michael Goers as a symbol of our esteem and | ||||||
