HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate the administration, doctors, and staff of Physicians Immediate Care (PIC) on the occasion of the opening of the organization's 20th location in Plainfield on February 6, 2012; and

WHEREAS, Physicians Immediate Care opened its first clinic on Morsay Drive in Rockford in 1987, when 4 emergency room physicians at SwedishAmerican Hospital recognized a need for immediate care options other than hospital emergency rooms; the 4 physicians treated patients at the Morsay Drive location for 5 years before opening a second Rockford site on South Alpine Road; the organization subsequently expanded to Machesney Park, Loves Park and Belvidere; the organization later moved into Chicago in 2003; and

WHEREAS, Today, Physicians Immediate Care now sees over 200,000 patients a year at 20 locations; the clinics offer walk-in appointments and evening and weekend hours for patients who need treatment when their primary doctor's office is closed, without having to resort to the services of a hospital emergency room; PIC also performs school and work physicals, immunizations, occupational medicine, and drug and alcohol testing; and

WHEREAS, The administration, doctors, and staff of Physicians Immediate Care serve as models of hard work, integrity, and dedication for the people of the State of Illinois; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate the administration, doctors, and staff of Physicians Immediate Care on the occasion of the opening of the organization's 20th location and wish them continued success and happiness in the future; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Physicians Immediate Care as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
