HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives are pleased to congratulate La'Shaun 
4Stallings-Hodge on the occasion of being named Ms. Illinois 
5America 2012; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, La'Shaun Stallings-Hodge is a 6th grade language 
7arts and social studies teacher at Indian Trail Middle School 
8in Plainfield; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, La'Shaun Stallings-Hodge has a long history of 
10stage, screen, and film work, including traditional theater, 
11movie, music video, television, and commercial appearances; 
12and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, La'Shaun Stallings-Hodge entered the Ms. Illinois 
14America pageant by submitting an application and photo and 
15undergoing a telephone interview and a State-wide competition; 
16she has also modeled and competed in two other pageants, the 
17Miss Illinois USA pageant and the Miss Joliet Illinois Top 
18Model contest, which she won in 2005; and
  
 
19    WHEREAS, As Ms. Illinois America, La'Shaun Stallings-Hodge 
20will compete in the national Ms. America pageant in Anaheim, 
21California on April 15, 2012; State titleholders from across

1the country will compete at the national event in several 
2events, including Interview, Fashion Wear, Sports Wear, 
3Evening Gown and On-Stage Interview for a chance to win over 
4$40,000 in gifts and prizes; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, La'Shaun Stallings-Hodge serves as a model of hard 
6work, integrity, and dedication for the people of the State of 
7Illinois; therefore, be it
  
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
9NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
10we congratulate La'Shaun Stallings-Hodge on the occasion of 
11being named Ms. Illinois America 2012 and wish her success in 
12the national competition; and be it further
  
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
14presented to La'Shaun Stallings-Hodge as a symbol of our esteem 
15and respect.
