HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives are pleased to congratulate the Dakota High 
4School Girls Varsity Volleyball team on winning the Class 1A 
5State championship; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, Mt. Pulaski could not recover from a rough start 
7to the match and Dakota needed only 2 games to beat the Mt. 
8Pulaski Toppers, 25-16, 25-20 and capture the Class 1A State 
9title; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, After a Game 1 victory, the Indians (41-1) had to 
11battle a little more in Game 2; they held a  7 point lead at 
1222-15 before the Toppers scored 4 straight to pull within 
1322-19;  the Indians scored 3 of the last 4 points, the final 
14coming on a kill from senior Jennifer Lane on a quick set from 
15fellow senior Aleesha Cleaver to seal the victory and give the 
16Indians their first State title; and

  
 
17    WHEREAS, The Varsity Coach is Shannon Williams; and the 
18Varsity Assistant Coach is Tyler Benning; and
  
 
19    WHEREAS, The members of the Dakota Volleyball team are:  
20Aleesha Cleaver, Rachel Buck, Jennifer Lane, Miranda Wells, 
21Cora Fiene, Maycee Zettle, Ashley Goeke, Jaycee Cleaver, Alex

1Peterson, Eden Meier, Sarah Thompson, Kristi Ebbers, Alissa 
2Dehaven, and Amanda Korte; therefore, be it
  
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
4NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
5we congratulate the Dakota Indians on this impressive victory 
6and a great season; and be it further
  
 
7    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
8presented to the Dakota High School Girls Varsity Volleyball 
9team as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
