HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives are pleased to congratulate Prete Apartments 
4on the occasion of its 20th anniversary on November 18, 2011; 
5and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, Prete Apartments is managed by the Elderly Housing 
7Development and Operations Corporation (EHDOC); the complex is 
8a low-income, senior housing facility located on the northwest 
9side of Chicago in an area called North Park Village; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, Prete Apartments opened in the spring of 1991 at 
11the North Park Village site, with the sole intent of working 
12with and caring for the senior citizens who reside there; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, Prete Apartments is a HUD-subsidized 75-unit 
14apartment building, where residents enjoy friendships, 
15independence, and many convenient amenities; and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, Prete Apartments is surrounded by acres of 
17lagoons, wetlands, prairie, oak savannah, and animal habitat; 
18and
  
 
19    WHEREAS, Prete Apartments is an ethnically-diverse 
20community dedicated to enhancing the quality of life and

1quality of care of low-income senior residents; and
  
 
2    WHEREAS, Prete Apartments has outstanding service 
3coordinators that identify and partner with resources in the 
4surrounding community to provide needed services; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Prete Apartments is considered to be one of the 
6nicest senior citizen apartment buildings in the nation; 
7therefore, be it
  
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
9NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
10we congratulate Prete Apartments on the occasion of its 20th 
11anniversary and wish its residents and employees continued 
12success and happiness in the future; and be it further
  
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
14presented to Prete Apartments as a symbol of our esteem and 
15respect.
