HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives are pleased to recognize Linda L. Allan for her 
4contributions to the State of Illinois as President of the 
5Illinois Funeral Directors Association; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, Linda Allan is the daughter of Robert and Nancy 
7Ciuferi of Collinsville; she grew up in an apartment above her 
8family's funeral home; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Linda Allan joined her parents in the family 
10business in 1982; she earned her associate's degree in funeral 
11service education from St. Louis Community College; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, Linda Allan is the owner of Allan and Ciuferi 
13Funeral Home on Main Street in Collinsville; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, Linda Allan was elected to serve as President of 
15the Illinois Funeral Directors Association; the installation 
16took place at the association's 130th annual convention at the 
17Hotel Pere Marquette in Peoria; and
  
 
18    WHEREAS, Linda Allan is a member of all of the IFDA 
19committees and is an ex-officio member; she previously served 
20on the Convention, Constitution, and By-Laws Committee and the

1Legislative Committee; she also served as the association's 
2Regional Director and President-Elect; and
  
 
3    WHEREAS, The Illinois Funeral Directors Association is a 
4129-year old association for funeral directors and embalmers; 
5the association's members represent funeral homes in every 
6county of the State; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Linda Allan currently serves as Deputy Coroner in 
8Madison County; she is also a member of the Madison County 
9Funeral Directors Association; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, Linda Allan is a past chairman of the Collinsville 
11Italian Fest and serves on the Collinsville Chamber of 
12Commerce, the Collinsville Planning Commission, and the Uptown 
13Development Committee; she is also a member of the Al Sihah 
14Temple #29 - Daughters of the Nile; and
  
 
15    WHEREAS, Linda Allan is the loving mother of Nicholas D. 
16Allan; and
  
 
17    WHEREAS, Linda Allan's leadership of the Illinois Funeral 
18Directors Association has greatly influenced legislation on 
19the funeral industry in the State of Illinois; therefore, be it
  
 
20    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE

1NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
2we congratulate Linda L. Allan for her successful term as the 
3President of the Illinois Funeral Directors Association and 
4recognize her for her many contributions to the State of 
5Illinois; and be it further
  
 
6    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
7presented to Linda L. Allan as a symbol of our esteem and 
8respect for her contributions to the State.
