HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives are pleased to congratulate Kenneth Nelson on 
4the occasion of his retirement after a long and distinguished 
5career as the 1st Ward Alderman and Mayor of the City of 
6Rolling Meadows; and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, In addition to holding elected office, Kenneth 
8Nelson has over 25 years of community and municipal service in 
9Rolling Meadows, serving on the Rolling Meadows Planning 
10Commission and serving as the Chairman of the Rolling Meadows 
11Economic Development Committee; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, Kenneth Nelson played an integral role on the 
13Northwest Municipal Conference Sensible Growth Committee, as 
14well as the Advisory Committee to the William Rainey Harper 
15Journalism Department; and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, Kenneth Nelson oversaw a city that continues to be 
17known for its public services, including refuse collection, 
18snow removal, and police and fire protection; and
  
 
19    WHEREAS, Kenneth Nelson is a loving husband to his wife, 
20Carol, and a loving father of three children; all are active in 
21their church, where both Ken and Carol Nelson have served as

1deacons and elders; and
  
 
2    WHEREAS, Kenneth Nelson has served as a model of hard work, 
3integrity, dedication, and success for the people of the City 
4of Rolling Meadows and the State of Illinois; therefore, be it
  
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
6NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
7we congratulate Kenneth Nelson on the occasion of his 
8retirement and wish him many happy and healthy retirement 
9years; and be it further
  
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
11presented to Kenneth Nelson as a symbol of our esteem and 
12respect.
