HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives are pleased to congratulate Judy Farney of 
4Urbana on her retirement from teaching at St. Thomas School in 
5Philo; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, She was born April 2, 1950,  in Chicago; she 
7graduated from  Mt. Assisi Academy in Lemont in 1968 and from  
8Eastern Illinois University in 1972; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, She began teaching in the Homer Community 
10Consolidated School District in the early 1970s teaching junior 
11high school language arts; she owned and operated J'N'J Donuts 
12in Homer from 1981 to 1985; she returned to teaching at St. 
13Thomas School in Philo in 1989, teaching all subjects; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, She was married to James E. Farney until his 
15passing in 2000; she has 2 sons, John (wife, Stephanie) and 
16Nick; a daughter, Jessica (husband, Ray) Heitner; and 3 
17grandchildren, Nathaniel, Paige, and Piper; and
  
 
  
18    WHEREAS, In her retirement she plans to garden, travel, and 
19spend time with her family; therefore, be it
  
 
20    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE

1NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
2we congratulate Judy Farney on her retirement and wish her the 
3best in her future endeavors; and be it further
  
 
4    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
5presented to Judy Farney as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
