HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Robert J. Frooninckx, who passed away on February 11, 2011; and

WHEREAS, Robert J. Frooninckx was born January 19, 1941, in Clifton, the son of Louis J. N. and Florence M. Hamende Frooninckx; he was the former mayor of Clifton for 5 1/2 years and retired from ZLB Behring Corporation; and

WHEREAS, He originally campaigned for mayor to get something done about sewage treatment; he was instrumental in getting the grant and no-interest loan from the EPA for the job; after he stepped down as Mayor he was still making the rounds, checking on the progress of the new sewage system he had worked so hard to see built; he worked adamantly on the project and many would have liked for him to see it finished; and

WHEREAS, He never missed any village board meetings and would attend many other village meetings he was not required to attend in order to invest time and interest in his community; and

WHEREAS, He was not only a great public servant, but a small business owner, realtor, and avid Cubs fan as well; he was a member of the Knights of Columbus and enjoyed collecting antiques, coins, and stocks; and

WHEREAS, Robert Frooninckx is survived by his daughter, Brenda Frooninckx and her companion, Melissa Rhodes; his sons and daughter-in-law, Craig and Kellie Frooninckx and Michael Frooninckx; his granddaughter, Tara Frooninckx; and his sister, Rita Rabideau; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Robert Frooninckx; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Robert Frooninckx as a symbol of our sincere sympathy.
