HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives are pleased to congratulate Linnea Kooistra of 
4Woodstock on the occasion of being designated a 2011 Master 
5Farmer by Prairie Farmer magazine; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, The Master Farmer program was started in 1925 as a 
7way to recognize the finest farmers in both Illinois and 
8Indiana; the award is unique in that a significant portion of 
9the judges' scoring hinged on the farmers' community 
10involvement; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, Linnea Kooistra is the first woman to be 
12recognized as a Master Farmer in the program's history; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, Linnea Kooistra will be honored for her 
14exceptional community service and farm management abilities at 
15a ceremony in Bloomington on March 22, 2011; and

  
 
16    WHEREAS, Linnea Kooistra serves as a model of hard work, 
17integrity, and dedication for the people of the State of 
18Illinois; therefore, be it
  
 
19    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
20NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that

1we congratulate Linnea Kooistra on the occasion of being 
2designated a 2011 Master Farmer and wish her continued success 
3and happiness in the future; and be it further
  
 
4    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be

6respect.
