HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives are pleased to congratulate James D. 
4MacArthur, Fire Chief of the Itasca Fire Protection District 
5No. 1, on his retirement; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, He has served the Itasca Fire Protection District 
7for the past eight years; prior to his service there he served 
8with the Elk Grove Village Fire Department for thirty years, 
9fifteen of thos years as the Chief; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, He is a former President of the Illinois Fire 
11Chiefs Association, the Metropolitan Fire Chiefs Association, 
12and the Northeast Illinois Fire Chiefs Association; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, He is currently a Director of the DuPage County 
14Fire Chiefs Association and serves as a member of the DuPage 
15County 9-1-1 Emergency Telephone System Board; and

  
 
16    WHEREAS, Chief MacArthur, along with other members of the 
17Illinois Fire Fighter Life Service Task Force, went to New 
18Orleans in 2005 to assist in relief efforts after the 
19devastation of Hurricane Katrina; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Chief MacArthur's dedication and hard work have

1made Illinois a safer and better place; therefore, be it
  
 
2    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
3NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
4we congratulate Chief James MacArthur on his retirement and 
5wish him all the best in his future endeavors; and be it 
6further
  
 
7    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
8presented to James MacArthur as a symbol of our respect and 
9esteem.
