Amends the Illinois Municipal Code. Authorizes a mayor who deems that mob action is likely to occur at an event hosted by the municipality to: (i) enter into agreements with the necessary law enforcement agencies to deputize law enforcement personnel; (ii) change the fines for resisting a police officer or aiding escape; (iii) amend the hours that public parks, playgrounds, and other public spaces are open; and (iv) execute limited agreements with public and private entities for goods or services for security and logistics. Effective immediately.

| 1 | | AN ACT concerning local government.
|
| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
|
| 4 | | Section 5. The Illinois Municipal Code is amended by adding |
| 5 | | Section 6-4-7.5 as follows: |
| 6 | | (65 ILCS 5/6-4-7.5 new) |
| 7 | | Sec. 6-4-7.5. Mob action. A mayor that deems that mob |
| 8 | | action, as defined in Section 25-1 of the Criminal Code of |
| 9 | | 1961, is likely to occur at an event hosted by the |
| 10 | | municipality, shall have the power to: (i) enter into |
| 11 | | agreements with the necessary law enforcement agencies to |
| 12 | | deputize law enforcement personnel; (ii) change the fines for |
| 13 | | resisting a police officer or aiding escape; (iii) amend the |
| 14 | | hours that public parks, playgrounds, and other public spaces |
| 15 | | are open; and (iv) execute limited agreements with public and |
| 16 | | private entities for goods or services for security and |
| 17 | | logistics.

| 18 | | Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon |
| 19 | | becoming law.
