AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 4757




2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 4757 by replacing 
3everything after the enacting clause with the following:

 
4    "Section 5. The Fire Sprinkler Dormitory Act is amended  by 
5changing Section 10 as follows:
 
6    (110 ILCS 47/10)

7    Sec. 10. Fire sprinkler systems required. Subject to the 
8establishment of a fire sprinkler dormitory revolving loan 
9program under Section 15 of this Act, fire sprinkler systems 
10are required in the dormitories of all post-secondary 
11educational institutions by 2013, unless a post-secondary 
12educational institution files a plan with the Board of Higher 
13Education detailing the progress of dormitory fire-sprinkler 
14installation and a timeline for completing the planned 
15installations no later than December 31, 2014. This requirement 
16includes current structures as well as newly constructed

1dormitories. Nothing in this Act may be construed to abrogate 
2any statute, rule, or ordinance requiring that a fire 
3extinguisher be present in a dormitory.
