| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,

| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:

| 4 | | Section 5. The Consumer Fraud and Deceptive Business |
| 5 | | Practices Act is amended by adding Section 2LLL as follows:

| 6 | | (815 ILCS 505/2LLL new) |
| 7 | | Sec. 2LLL. Retail rebates. Any person who offers a rebate |
| 8 | | to consumers at retail on any merchandise must conspicuously |
| 9 | | display and clearly disclose to the consumer the type of rebate |
| 10 | | being offered, whether additional fees may apply on the rebate |
| 11 | | offered, and the form of remittance that will be provided to |
| 12 | | the consumer. Any person who violates this Section commits an |
| 13 | | unlawful practice within the meaning of this Act.
