| 1 | | AN ACT concerning liquor.
|
| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
|
| 4 | | Section 5. The Liquor Control Act of 1934 is amended by |
| 5 | | changing Section 6-31 as follows:
|
| 6 | | (235 ILCS 5/6-31)
|
| 7 | | Sec. 6-31. Product sampling.
|
| 8 | | (a) Retailer, distributor, importing distributor, |
| 9 | | manufacturer and
nonresident dealer licensees may conduct |
| 10 | | product sampling for consumption at a
licensed retail location. |
| 11 | | Up to 3 separate samples, consisting of no more than (i) 1/4
|
| 12 | | ounce of distilled spirits, (ii) 1.5 ounces one ounce of wine, |
| 13 | | or (iii) 4 2 ounces of beer
may be served to a consumer in one |
| 14 | | day. The retailer, distributor, importing distributor, |
| 15 | | manufacturer, or non-resident dealer must verify that the |
| 16 | | consumer being served the sample is at least 21 years of age. |
| 17 | | The licensee or an agent of the licensee conducting the product |
| 18 | | sampling must document the total number of consumers being |
| 19 | | served the sample and the number of samples served to each |
| 20 | | consumer to ensure that no more than 3 separate samples are |
| 21 | | served to a consumer in one day.

| 22 | | (b) Notwithstanding the provisions of subsection (a), an |
