| 4 | | "Section 5. The Illinois Police Training Act is amended by |
| 5 | | changing Section 3 as follows:

| 8 | | vacancies. The Board
shall be composed of 19 members selected |
| 9 | | as follows: The Attorney
General of
the State of Illinois, the |
| 10 | | Director of State Police, the Director of
Corrections, the |
| 11 | | Superintendent of the
Chicago Police Department, the Sheriff of |
| 12 | | Cook County, the Director of the
Illinois Police Training |
| 13 | | Institute, the Special Agent in Charge of the
Springfield, |
| 14 | | Illinois, division of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the
|
| 15 | | Executive Director of the Illinois Board of Higher Education |
| 16 | | and the following
to be appointed by the Governor: 2 mayors or |
|

| 1 | | village presidents of Illinois
municipalities, one 2 Illinois |
| 2 | | county sheriff sheriffs from a county counties other than Cook

| 3 | | County, 2 managers of Illinois municipalities, 2 3 chiefs of |
| 4 | | municipal police
departments in Illinois having no |
| 5 | | Superintendent of the Police Department on
the Board, and 2 |
| 6 | | citizens of Illinois who shall be members of
an organized |
| 7 | | enforcement officers' association which has no other members
on |
| 8 | | the Board other than the chief of a municipal police |
| 9 | | department, the
Special Agent of the Federal Bureau of |
| 10 | | Investigation, the Director of State
Police, a county sheriff |
| 11 | | or deputy sheriff, and one active member of a statewide |
| 12 | | association representing sheriffs and one active member of a |
| 13 | | statewide association representing municipal police chiefs, |
| 14 | | each to be appointed by the President of his or her respective |
| 15 | | association. The appointments of the Governor
shall be made on |
| 16 | | the first Monday of August in 1965 with 3 of the appointments
|
| 17 | | to be for a period of one year, 3 for 2 years, and 3 for 3 |
| 18 | | years. Their
successors shall be appointed in like manner for |
| 19 | | terms to expire the first
Monday of August each 3 years |
| 20 | | thereafter. All members shall serve until their
respective |
| 21 | | successors are appointed and qualify. Vacancies shall be filled |
| 22 | | by
the Governor for the unexpired terms.

| 25 | | becoming law.".
