| 4 | | "Section 5. The Township Code is amended by adding Section |
| 5 | | 85-65 as follows:

| 6 | | (60 ILCS 1/85-65 new) |
| 7 | | Sec. 85-65. Animal control. If a county has not exercised |
| 8 | | its authority under the Animal Control Act in unincorporated |
| 9 | | areas of the county where a township is located, the township |
| 10 | | board may request the assistance of the county sheriff when one |
| 11 | | or more complaints are received by the township in regard to |
| 12 | | potential violations of the Animal Control Act. The sheriff and |
| 13 | | all sheriff's deputies shall cooperate with the township |
| 14 | | board's request.
