| 1 | | AN ACT concerning public aid.
|
| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
|
| 4 | | Section 5. The Illinois Public Aid Code is amended by |
| 5 | | adding Section 5-2a as follows:
|
| 6 | | (305 ILCS 5/5-2a new) |
| 7 | | Sec. 5-2a. Medicaid State Plan; eligibility determination |
| 8 | | status. The Department shall conduct an analysis and deliver a |
| 9 | | report to the General Assembly by January 1, 2012 to evaluate |
| 10 | | the feasibility of changing Illinois' Medicaid State Plan from |
| 11 | | 209(b) status to the federal 1634 eligibility determination |
| 12 | | status for applicable individuals as provided in the Social |
| 13 | | Security Act. The report shall include a review of the current |
| 14 | | standard used by the Department, anticipated fiscal |
| 15 | | implications of converting to 1634 status, anticipated changes |
| 16 | | in caseloads resulting from a change to 1634 status, and any |
| 17 | | additional information deemed relevant by the Department to |
| 18 | | evaluate the feasibility of converting to 1634 status.

| 19 | | Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon |
| 20 | | becoming law.
