| 1 | | AN ACT concerning local government.

| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,

| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:

| 4 | | Section 5. The Illinois Municipal Code is amended by adding |
| 5 | | Section 1-2-12.1 as follows:
|
| 6 | | (65 ILCS 5/1-2-12.1 new) |
| 7 | | Sec. 1-2-12.1. Municipal bond fees. A municipality may |
| 8 | | impose a fee up to $20 for bail processing against any person |
| 9 | | arrested for violating a bailable municipal ordinance or a |
| 10 | | State or federal law.

| 11 | | Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon |
| 12 | | becoming law.
