Provides that any area within the boundaries of a single county may be incorporated as a renewable energy production district. Sets forth the procedure for establishing a renewable energy production district. Provides that a board of trustees shall govern a renewable energy production district. Sets forth the appointment, terms, and powers of the board members. Authorizes the board to sell the renewable energy produced by a renewable energy facility. Contains other provisions. Effective immediately.Senate Floor Amendment No. 1 Replaces everything after the enacting clause. Reinserts the provisions of the introduced bill with changes. Provides that an area that may incorporate a renewable energy production district must be in a county that includes a municipal electric utility that owns electric generation. Further provides that the Act shall apply only to renewable energy facilities owned, operated, or maintained by or on behalf of a renewable energy production district.
