<reference>110 ILCS 78/23 new</reference><aliasreference></aliasreference><SynopsisText>     Amends the Transparency in College Textbook Publishing Practices Act. Prohibits a publisher of college textbooks from offering or giving anything of monetary value to any person involved in the selection of a textbook or supplemental material for a course taught at a public institution of higher education if the offer or gift influences or is intended to influence the action or judgment of the person in selecting a textbook or supplemental material. Prohibits a person involved in the selection of a textbook or supplemental material for a course taught at an institution from soliciting or accepting anything of monetary value from a publisher of college textbooks if the solicitation or acceptance influences or is intended to influence the action or judgment of the person in selecting a textbook or supplemental material. Sets forth exceptions to these prohibitions. Provides that a person who violates the prohibitions is guilty of a petty offense. Effective July 1, 2013.</SynopsisText></synopsis>
