SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Lawrence N. "Larry" Hansen of River 
4Forest, who passed away on November 15, 2010; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, He was a vice president of the Joyce Foundation 
6and Program Officer for the Money and Politics Program; and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, He was a Board Member of the University Y.M.C.A. 
8at the University of Illinois and of the Donors Forum, and 
9Chair of the Advisory Board of Illinois Issues; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, He was a beloved figure in American politics and 
11an inspiration to all who worked with him; he had vast 
12experience in government and politics and a rich appreciation 
13for history, all of which he generously shared with his 
14signature wit and good humor; and
  
 
15    WHEREAS, His strength of spirit was matched equally with 
16compassion and kindness; his family and friends were 
17tremendously enriched by his presence in their lives and their 
18memories will forever be cherished; and
  
 
19    WHEREAS, He was the loving husband of 41 years to Margaret 
20"Marge" nee Rybicki; the beloved son of Jeanne and the late

1Stanley D. Hansen; the much loved son-in-law of the late Marge 
2and John Rybicki; the cherished brother of Janis (David) 
3Duewel, Lance (Sue), and Candace; the treasured brother-in-law 
4of Patricia and John Brown; and the fond uncle and great-uncle 
5of many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
  
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL 
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with 
8his family and friends, the passing of Lawrence Hansen; and be 
9it further
  
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
11presented to the family of Lawrence Hansen as a symbol of our 
12sincere sympathy.
