SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Helen C. Favier of Granite City, who passed away on April 2, 2010; and

WHEREAS, She was born on May 12, 1919, in St. Louis, Missouri; she loved children and served more than 15 years as a secretary in the library at the Granite City High School; and

WHEREAS, She was a long time member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Granite City, where she was active in the Altar Society; she enjoyed being a member of the Daughters of Isabella and the Retired School Secretary Association, and she served many years as an election judge; and

WHEREAS, Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald John Favier, whom she married on April 27, 1946, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Granite City; her parents, Joseph and Clara Muick; her two grandsons, Jason Goodrich and Cole Fisher; and her three sisters, Sister Mary Marcelline, O.S.U., Margaret Breyer, and Catherine Richardson; and

WHEREAS, Helen Favier is survived by her daughters, Annette (Cecil) Morton and Mary (Lance) Kennerly; her 10 grandchildren, Paul Pulaski, Amy (Ron) Fisher, Shelly (Dan) Hoering, Jennifer (David Jones) Crain, Lauren (Greg) Bauer, Joshua Goodrich, Mike Morton, Krista (Eddie) Connolly, Sara Kennerly, and Amy Kennerly; and her nine great-grandchildren, Zachary, Preston, Tabitha, Isabella, Landon, Cody, Emilee, Samatha, and Chase; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with her family and friends, the passing of Helen Favier; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Helen Favier as a symbol of our sincere sympathy.
