SENATE RESOLUTION

    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to  
3
learn of the death of
John D. Drew of Benton, who passed away 
4
on November 25, 2009; and
  
 
5
    WHEREAS, John Drew was born on May 17, 1948, in Ewing; his 
6
parents were Howard and Betty (Scrutchfield) Drew; and
  
 
7
    WHEREAS, John Drew began practicing as an attorney in 1979; 
8
he retired after 30 years of service; and
  
 
9
    WHEREAS, John Drew was a member of the Franklin County Bar 
10
Association and the Illinois State Bar Association; he was also 
11
the president of Benton Little League and a member of the 
12
Franklin County Country Club; and
  
 
13
    WHEREAS, John Drew was preceded in death by his parents; 
14
and
  
 
15
    WHEREAS, John Drew is survived by his wife, Cookie Drew; 
16
his sons, Bryan Drew (wife, Melissa) and Jason Drew; his 
17
granddaughters, Olivia and Victoria Drew; his uncle, Paul Drew; 
18
and his aunt, Mary McDowell; therefore, be it

    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL

ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with

his family and friends, the passing of John D. Drew;  and be it

    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be

presented to the family of John  Drew as an expression of our 
6
sympathy.
