| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |

| learn of the death of Jesse M. Veach of Peoria, who passed away |
| 4 |
| on December 3, 2009; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS,
He was born July 8, 1932, in Charleston, the son |
| 6 |
| of Charles and Beulah Millage Veach; he married Barbara Kunkel |
| 7 |
| on March 17, 1981, in Princeville; and
|
| 8 |
| WHEREAS, He worked for Caterpillar Inc. for 27 years, |
| 9 |
| retiring as an overhead crane operator in 1991; and
|
| 10 |
| WHEREAS, After his retirement from Caterpillar, he worked |
| 11 |
| for the American Red Cross; he was a member of the Caterpillar |
| 12 |
| Square Dance Club; and
|
| 13 |
| WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his parents, four |
| 14 |
| brothers, and one sister; and
|
| 15 |
| WHEREAS, Jesse Veach is survived by his wife, Barbara; his |
| 16 |
| daughter, Dona M. (Matthew) Graham; his stepdaughter, Lisa |
| 17 |
| (Gary) Hill; his stepsons, Doug (Rhonda) Kunkel and Steven |
| 18 |
| Kunkel; his brothers, Max Veach, Lowell (Mickie) Veach, and |
| 19 |
| Gilbert Veach; his sisters, Mary (Pete) Higgs, Wanda Higgs, and |
| 20 |
| Rachel Stonum; his grandchild; and his four |
