SENATE RESOLUTION

    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to  
3
learn of the death of
Richard T. Luka of Pleasant Prairie, who 
4
passed away on June 3, 2009; and

 
5
    WHEREAS, Richard Luka was born on September 3, 1927 in 
6
Chicago; he was a long time resident of Waukegan; and

 
7
    WHEREAS, Richard Luka served his country with pride and 
8
distinction as a member of the United States Navy for 21 years; 
9
and

 
10
    WHEREAS, Richard Luka was the owner and operator of 
11
Waukegan Rental for over 20 years; and

 
12
    WHEREAS, Richard Luka was an avid Chicago Cubs and Chicago 
13
Bears fan; he also loved being outdoors, fishing, golfing, 
14
bowling, and his cabin in Crivitz, Wisconsin; and
 
15
    WHEREAS, Richard Luka was preceded in death by his beloved 
16
wife of 56 years, Margie; and

 
17
    WHEREAS, Richard Luka was the loving father of Thomas J. 
18
(Loretta), Barb (Timothy) Hayes, and Patti (Joe) Laken; the 
19
dear grandfather of Kristin, Lauren, Allison, Daniel, Sean,

Mitchell, and John; and the loving owner of his canine

companion, Dutchess; therefore, be it

    RESOLVED, BY THE  SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL 
4
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with 
5
his family and friends, the passing of Richard T. Luka; and be 
6
it further

 
7
    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
8
presented to the family of Richard Luka as an expression of our 
9
sympathy.
