HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2
    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3
Representatives are pleased to congratulate and recognize the 
4
members of the College Student Personnel (CSP) Class of 2010 
5
for earning Master of Science degrees and completing 2 years of 
6
full-time graduate study and assistantships at Western 
7
Illinois University; and
  
 
8
    WHEREAS, The mission of the College Student Personnel 
9
program at Western Illinois University is to produce 
10
outstanding entry-level student affairs practitioners who 
11
possess the knowledge and skills to facilitate the learning and 
12
development of students; the nationally-recognized and 
13
reputable program includes coursework in student development 
14
theory, groups dynamics, philosophy of higher education, 
15
organization and administration of student affairs, 
16
multicultural issues, counseling theory and techniques, and 
17
research methods; the program incorporates a rigorous academic 
18
program and practical experience outside of the classroom; each 
19
graduate student is required to successfully maintain an 
20
assistantship and work with practitioners in a department or 
21
office providing student services on campus, including, but not 
22
limited to, student activities, residence life, orientation, 
23
career services, and academic advising; and

    WHEREAS, The members of the College Student Personnel Class 
2
of 2010 are Mollie Allred, Ashlee Baker, Mark Carbonara, 
3
Theoria Cason, Jenny Douglas, David Downing, Ellen Engh, Mandi 
4
Hulme, Courtney James, Alandis Johnson, Katherine Knutsen, 
5
Joelle Khairallah, Lindsay Lenane, Adam Ludwig, Heather McCoy, 
6
Abby McLaughlin, Alison Myers, Craig Orcholski, Orterio Villa, 
7
and Katie Young; and
  
 
8
    WHEREAS, The members of the College Student Personnel Class 
9
of 2010 serve as models of hard work, integrity, and dedication 
10
for the people of the State of Illinois; therefore, be it
  
 
11
    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
12
NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
13
congratulate and recognize the members of the College Student 
14
Personnel Class of 2010 for their fine academic performances 
15
and wish them continued success and happiness in the future; 
16
and be it further

    RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be 
18
presented to the members of the College Student Personnel Class 
19
of 2010 as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
