| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |

| Representatives are pleased to congratulate Judy Chapman as she |
| 4 |
| retires from her position as a math teacher at Charleston High |
| 5 |
| School; and
|
| 6 |
| WHEREAS, She is originally from Columbus, Ohio, and came to |
| 7 |
| Charleston after her former husband joined the faculty at |
| 8 |
| Eastern Illinois University; and
|
| 9 |
| WHEREAS, She taught home economics at Eastern Illinois |
| 10 |
| University for thirteen years; deciding she wanted to be around |
| 11 |
| her children and be a part of their school activities, she |
| 12 |
| returned to college and added a degree in mathematics to her |
| 13 |
| degree in home economics; and
|
| 14 |
| WHEREAS, She began teaching at the high school in 1988; in |
| 15 |
| addition to math, she also taught geometry and calculus; and
|
| 16 |
| WHEREAS, She is known for her "witicisms", words she would |
| 17 |
| use in her classroom that her students would pay close |
| 18 |
| attention to, resulting in her being presented with a t-shirt |
| 19 |
| filled with "witicisms" at the end of one school year; and
|
| 20 |
| WHEREAS, She plans to visit with family, especially her |
