HOUSE RESOLUTION

    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3
Representatives are pleased to congratulate Dr. Youssef 
4
Yomtoob on his retirement as Superintendent of Hawthorn School 
5
District 73; and

 

6
    WHEREAS, Dr. Joe, as he is affectionately known, earned his 
7
Bachelor of Science degree from Manchester College in 1963, his 
8
Master of Arts and Masters of Science degrees from Andrews 
9
University and the University of Notre Dame; he received his 
10
Doctor of Philosophy degree in 1974; and

 
11
    WHEREAS, He has devoted his life to education as a teacher 
12
and administrator in the State of Illinois as well as Michigan; 
13
and

 
14
    WHEREAS, He has served as Superintendent of Hawthorn School 
15
District 73 for thirteen years; during that time he has 
16
overseen efforts that include a goal of 100% student 
17
achievement, financial stability, and construction and 
18
refurbishment of all buildings on the six-building K-8 campus; 
19
and

 
20
    WHEREAS, Before serving at Hawthorn School District 73 he 
21
was Director of Pupil Services for the Evanston/Skokie District

64 and Superintendent at Willow Run Community Schools in Niles, 
2
Michigan; therefore, be it

    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
4
NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
5
congratulate Dr. Youssef Yomtoob on his retirement and wish him 
6
continued success in his future endeavors; and be it further

 
7
    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
8
presented to Dr. Youssef Yomtoob as a symbol of our respect.
